Chema Guzman
Professor Chema Guzman is a Black Belt under Professor Jared “The Jaguar” Chaffee. Chema began his training in mixed martial arts and jiu jitsu in his hometown Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico in 2011 under Professor Xavier de la Riva. He returned to the United States in 2012 to further his training under the mentorship of Professor Jared Chaffee and Professor Alex Morono. Jiu jitsu is more than just training and exercise to Chema, it is a sport he fell in love with from day one. Jiu jitsu and MMA has taught him discipline and has given him strength, vitality, and focus. Chema has shared his love of the sport with all 4 of his children. It was through teaching his own children that he realized he had a passion and a gift for coaching. He started coaching the kids’ classes early on 5 days a week. He has been blessed to develop and watch many of his young students grow into well-rounded adults, who still continue train and compete in the sport regularly. Chema continues to train, teach classes, and coach at competitions regularly. Professor Chema lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Amber Guzman, and 3 of his children Rafael, James, and Hayley.
